I haven't done a Throwback Thursday in a hot minute. I was doing them for BroBible for a while, but things starting getting hectic with lacrosse starting up and it seemed like it wasn't getting really well received over there. I'm more of a guy that is pumpin' out new music, but I do have love for some old school hip-hop. This Throwback Thursday edition is going out to a group I grew up listening to. Sure they were a little before my time and being a kid from Greenwich, listening to hip-hop doesn't really fit the mold. But I grew up listening to Naughty by Nature. The Grammy Award-winning American hip hop trio from East Orange, New Jersey that at the time of its formation in 1989 consisted of Treach, Vin Rock, and the DJ Kay Gee. They are known for being one of the few rap acts who were able to balance success on the pop charts with hardcore rap credibility. From "OPP" to "Feel Me Flow", Naughty by Nature hit you with those smooth sounds and dope rhymes. Though they have some very well known tracks, "Ghetto Bastard" has always been my favorite track from them. I still find myself listening to their early tracks today. There is nothing not to love about Naughty by Nature, a true hip-hop group that broke the norm.

So you guys are in luck, I stumbled across a CD of epic proportions and decided to throw it up as the Throwback Thursday for this week. Just straight bangers from top to bottom, this CD really reminds me why Busta is one of my favorites of all time. Of course this has some classic Eminem / Dre and hopefully The Detox is everything I've been waiting for my entire teenage years (I've heard 4/20 is the release date). Of course the unmatched Wild Wild West has stood the test of time. Some great Roots songs, with a dash of Missy Elliot and sprinkle of Nas. 2000 was a great year in Rap.
