K.Vincent - Ain't A Thang Change (Prod. By Nabs, Add. Prod By Alex Cruz & Black Lion Beats)

Pumped to present a new artist to Stags Flow. K.Vincent is a rapper out of Chi-town and represents everything were about here. Staying on his grind. K.Vincent has a smooth flow and drops some dope lyrics over solid production. He is definitely a dope addition to the site. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this new rapper because this song is definitely one I'm going to have on repeat. This is that straight crack driving music! Big ups to PaidYoung and K.Vincent!

KAM Royal - Lyrical Exercise #1

So KAM hit me up on Twitter telling me he's got some music for me. Being caught up in class all day was brutal because any new KAM Royal drop is definitely one I want to hear. This is first in a series of Lyrical Exercises that will serve as a prelude to KAM Royal's next mixtape. I've said many of times that KAM's sound is just so unique that it's easy to have on repeat. It's that laid back 90's feel that is absolutely killen it. I'm pumped for his next mixtape, which I believe will set KAM apart from others. You think Business As Usual was dope? Wait till his next mixtape. Going to be a sure fire hit!

Paul Markham - Start It Up (Remix)

Paul Markham is back from a little hiatus. "Beg To Differ" was a dope mixtape and this is a preview to what comes next from the rising rapper. "Start It Up (Remix)" is off Paul Markham's final remix mixtape, THE PRELUDE, available 2/11/11. Paul is very witty with his lyricism and has the delivery to make an impact in the industry. Don't be surprised if you find his music spreading to a college near you. Shout out to Alex Heckmann for the drop, always keeping me in the loop.

Young Prince - One More Night (Prod. By Yala)

So the homie Young Prince hit the inbox with his new joint "One More Night" the other day. This new release is off his next project "The Reverse Effect"I know I have been on hiatus for a little while because of lacrosse season, but we have a new writer on the way so be on the lookout for the homie Matt Deane to start making a contribution soon. But back to the dope track, YP hits you with his signature dope flow. Having that Wiz Khalifa type versatility where he can spit dope lines and have some smooth vocals on the chorus, he absolutely kills it. This track is produced by Yala, who did a few tracks off his War mixtape (which was absolutely insane). Be on the look out for Young Prince in 2011 because he is set to make some more serious noise!

Soulfully, Me - On My Way

Soulfully, Me recently released a "Lost Track" from his debut mixtape Confessions of a College Kid. As noted on the official track listing, "On My Way" is said to be the 21st track. However Soulfully, Me omitted this song from the mixtape prior to release. Soulfully, Me presents, "On My Way", a freestyle over Cassie's Must Be Love.

I have become a huge fan of Soulfully, Me since I first heard "Confessions of a College Kid". He just has a swagger about him that makes him easy to have on replay. His delivery and lyricism is on point. He drops some seriously witty punchlines during this track. Don't be surprised if you find Soulfully, Me on many other music sites and blogs in the near future because the sky is the limit for this kid.

Dr. Dre - I Need A Doctor (Feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey)

Dropped the unfinished version a while ago, but I am so pumped about this. Dr. Dre's "Detox" could be one of the most highly anticipated hip-hop albums of all time. There has been so much swirling uncertainty about the project and this has been years in the making. While "Kush" was rumored to be the first single, "I Need A Doctor" is the official second single off Detox. This album is simply the best kept secret in the Hip-Hop music world. As a fan, the only thing I can do is wait for this album to drop. It is going to absolutely take off from a sales standpoint and could be the most selling album of this decade.

Two New Bangers for the Ladies

When I think of artists that females love, it's Ke$ha and Natasha Bedingfield. Ke$ha has been a monster of radio friendly, pop, dance party tracks. Don't be alarmed by the slow start of "Princess Ke$ha" it picks up with a bang.  Natasha on the other hand has produced a lengthy career due to great vocals. Every girl, and let's be honest, every guy knows that Natasha Bedingfield's smash hit "Unwritten" was the theme song to The Hills. Well they both have released new track today, so take a listen below!

Wiz Khalifa - Roll Up

Well if you follow Wiz Khalifa on Twitter other than "Waken and baken..", all he has tweeted about is his new album coming up titled "Rolling Papers". Fitting? Well you know we stay on our grind here at Stags Flow and I have the second leak off the album for you to today. For this song, Wiz teamed up yet again with “Black and Yellow” producer StarGate to create a catchy, smooth, radio-friendly tune that should be making its way to the Billboard Hot 100 in the coming weeks. Definitely worth the download.

Sam Adams - Coming Home (Remix)

Been a little while since Sammy Adams had a drop, but this is definitely a good track to start with. Anyone and everybody has been remixing this track. There have been some good versions and bad versions. Diddy's original? Hated it. J. Cole's? Loved it. Sam Adams? Definitely a banger. Sam keeps the similar style with the slow intro and vocal chorus, but drops some pretty witty bars of his own.

Moufy - Party Til We Pass Out

Boston's own unsigned rapper Moufy is back. This time he releases his first track, "Party Til We Pass Out", off his upcoming mixtape "City Dreamin'". mixtape is dropping Monday February 21st, it's called City Dreamin' and Moufy's manager Cam has assured me that there will be drops from the mixtape every Thursday, so definitely be on the lookout for that. The mixtape is being hosted by DJ Moneybags, who we featured here with his dope mixtape "My Twisted Dark Dropout", which was a sick Kanye mashup album. Moufy is definitely an artist on the rise and his rhymes get better with each track. "Party Til We Pass Out" is a great mix of straight hip-hop with a banger hook, perfect for any setting. This mixtape is going to be a huge step for Moufy in the right direction.

Moufy is also set to perform with Na Palm and Machine Gun Kelly this Saturday in Quincy, Mass. If your from around there here is the Facebook Event Page for ticket information (Moufy Live with Na Palm, Machine Gun Kelly and More!)

Kj Hamilton - Love Leaves

Today I am introducing you to a new smooth aspiring MC named Kj Hamilton. Kj has a real laid back feel and can flow really well lyrically. I am definitely going to be bumping this track. He has that type of delivery similar to G.O.O.D Music's Big Sean. Definitely be on the lookout for Kj Hamilton. "Love Leaves" was produced by JUDAH originally heard on the mixtape entitled "The Amber Rose Instrumentals." Additional editing and programming was done by Kj himself. This is the second single off of his EP Aspiring MC, Vol. I which is due to drop January 31st, 2011.

Although he's only 19, Kj Hamilton is a self-proclaimed revolutionary rapper, way ahead of his time. Born and raised in Georgia, this southern rapper has made his way up north, calling The Big Apple his new home. Still, he never forgets where he came from and holds nothing back as he shares his life experiences throughout the verses of his songs. Fascinated by the arts, music has always been his outlet. His passion is evident; his talent is undeniable. His biggest inspirations come from musical geniuses Kanye West and Andre 3000, while still praising the originators who paved the way. A fusion of the old and the new, along with Kj's own vision, results in a creative sound that's different from anything we have yet to hear. His determination proves that he's heading to the top, with no intentions of stopping until he gets there.

Mark Hardy - All I Want is You Freestyle

Reggae Hip-hop fusion has taken off as of lately. With the likes of Gyptian's "Hold Yuh" and Serani's "No Games", the public has come to enjoy this dope fusion of sounds. Well today there is another hip-hop reggae fusion artist on the rise. His name is Mark Hardy and he is from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. I was a huge fan of Miguel and J. Cole's track "All I Want Is You". I felt it had the perfect mix of old school sound and new school rap. Mark Hardy throws a completely different feel on it, providing an extremely dope sound. Word is that Mark just wrapped up his first international collaboration with Stags Flow's favorite Collin McLoughlin. Download the track below and become a fan of Mark Hardy's Facebook here (Mark Hardy Facebook Fan Page).

David Guetta (With Keenan Cahill) One More Love Album Megamix

I mean come on now. First he gets to team up with 50 cent. Now he's doing a Megamix with David Guetta. I was going to be done posting for the day until I saw this on YouTube as one of the most viewed videos. So you're telling me that if I start lip syncing songs on YouTube that I will be able to chill with all these celebrities? I think not. I mean I get it, he's a midget, but still this is some bull. Honestly, what is next for this kid? A lip-syncing duet with Katy Perry?

Theophilus London feat. Sara Quin - Why Even Try x Bonus

I have been a huge fan of Theophilus London. He's just has that dope sound you can kick back too. Theophilus released "Why Even Try" yesterday via Twitter and it literally combines an old school sound with a new school feel, the production is simply masterful. Featuring Sara Q of indie rock duo Tegan and Sara, “Why Even Try” has an electric feel, yet sounds hipper than most as Theophilus does his thing on the verses, while Sara fills in the background with light vocals. Along with the vocals and verses, there is a few scratches from producer Diplo. This track can be liked by all audiences. I've also thrown in some of my favorite bonus tracks from Theo. "Always Love You" uses an unreal sample of Whitney Houston (drops around 0:40 seconds) and "Humdrum Town" is simply my favorite Theo track. Enjoy!

UPDATE: Sean Kingston - Hope Is A River feat B.o.B.

A new smooth track featuring some meaningful lyrics. Radio monster Sean Kingston teams up with one of my favorite artists Bobby Ray to create a dope track that actually has meaning. Definitely reminds me of some Akon tracks. I am definitely feeling the collaboration from this duo.

Akon - One More Time (Snippet)

I hardly never post Snippets of track because I always wait to give you guys the full version of a track, but I couldn't wait on this one. Akon's track "One More Time" is going to be one of the dance party tracks of the year. Featuring his sultry smooth vocals and an dope beat, this one is going to be insane.

Benny Benassi Feat. T-Pain - Electroman

Damn! A Benny Benassi track featuring the godfather of Auto-Tune Teddy Pain. An upbeat bangerr that will get your snow day started. Turn the volume up, pump that bass, and blast this track.

Lonny Bereal Feat. Chris Brown & Busta Rhymes - Don’t Play Wit It

Busta Rhymes has really been on his game. He is releasing some pretty fire tracks lately. This track is by a new comer I don't know much about, Lonny Bereal, but he's got a smooth sound that matches Busta's speedy verse and Chris Brown's hard rap verse. Definitely an electro type sound with a hip-hop feel. Check it out below!

Matt Clarke - Good Vibration

Matt Clarke out of Massachusetts is back. We first featured him a few months back feauturing his tracks "Come On Let's Go" and "Die Tomorrow". Well today he hit me up with an extremely upbeat back track. Using Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch's smash hit "Good Vibrations", Matt hits you with some dope lyrically smooth verses. He flows perfectly over the beat. This is definitely a track you could find yourself rockin' too. Be on the lookout for more Matt Clarke soon and become a fan of his on Facebook here (Matt Clarke Facebook Fan Page). Download below!

XV - H.A.M. (Heroes Amongst Men)

Much like Black & Yellow and 6'7, it appears H.A.M. is the beat flavor of the month. Here XV puts his own spin on it with "Heroes Amongst Men". It's got a nice feel to it and he continues to grow on me even more, I really like what XV has been doing to other artists beats.

Sorry for the absence of posts these past few days, going to start to pick up the pace again.

OnCue - Your Own Supply Official Video x MP3

First off, got an immediate thank you from OnCue for dropping the track with Fortune Family, so my respect level for OnCue has just shot up. Thank you for that my man. He also sent over his new video for his track "Your Own Supply", which is directed by VisualHighLife.com. I am a huge fan of the cinematography behind music videos and VisualHighLife definitely kills it, the video is entertaining as hell. Back to the track, this is definitely up there as one of my favorites from OnCue because it illustrates his versatility. OnCue can spit fire line after line ("I love this shit more than Rocky loves Emily" is an absolute killer line hah), but he can't also show his vocal capability on the hooks. I will tell you this, you will be seeing a lot more OnCue on Stags Flow because I am a huge fan and I think you all will agree he's extremely talented.

Definitely a dope track!

Loggy - The Dream

Loggy is finally back! The athlete / rapper from California drops his first solo track of the new year. Loggy is one of the most talented new rappers on the scene. This track definitely illustrates that. He hits the track with some smooth witty verses. The production on this track is insane. Definitely an upbeat banger!

Fortune Family - Hasta La Vista (Feat. OnCue)

New track from the Philly boys Fortune Family featuring the smooth sounds of OnCue. Typical from the Family, you have fresh verses from Hob and Reef and outstanding production from Hobson. He is really impressing me more and more with each track from a production standpoint. Channeling his inner Xaphoon Jones sample style, Hobson samples Sufjan Steven’s “Come on! Feel the Illnoise” and Jay-Z’s “Public Service Announcement (Interlude)”. I have been a fan of OnCue for a while now and he's got some serious skills from a lyrical standpoint. It is definitely a great collaboration between Fortune Family and OnCue. This track is the first single off of Fortune Family's EP "Paradox", which is set to drop 2/1/11.

Stags Flow Exclusive Interview with Dave Patten

So our next artist in our "Meet The Artist" segment is Dave Patten. I have been more than impressed with Dave when I first heard his music. Hailing from Philadelphia, Dave is an unreal talent in this music industry. Dave Patten creates his own brand of music from start to finish. Everything you hear on the singer/songwriter’s self-produced albums – acoustic and electric guitars, piano, drums, bass, synthesized horns and string parts – is Dave. Rarely does a musician have the ability and talent to synchronize each aspect of his tracks to the exact specifications of his creative vision. It is not only these talents that Dave impresses everyone with, but also his vocals. He has the the vocal capability to hit numerous genres of music. Dave also directs his own music videos, which you can see above. They are real dope. I've included some of my favorite tracks below from Dave's album "Exposure". Enjoy the tracks, and music videos. Just wanted to give Dave a huge thank you for taking the time to do this!

1. Thank you Dave for sitting down with us today, why don’t you introduce yourself to all the readers, where your from, and a little about yourself?

I’m a musician and an artist – I write and produce my music here in Philly.   I have just released my sixth album, “Exposure”, and my youtube channel just recently broke 2 million views, so I’m in a pretty good mood haha.

2. You are a jack-of-all-trades, like a Ryan Leslie, how do you separate yourself from the pack of new artists?

I work with a lot of awesome rappers and hip-hop artists.  I’m a pop artist.  I think those collaborations bring a lot of attention to the fact that I’m doing something different, out of the box.  You have to be different like that to get any attention.  You also have to produce great material and be persistent.  I’ve averaged about a video/week, which has been great for creating buzz.

3. Who are some of your biggest inspirations?

Relationships are my biggest.  There are a few particular relationships I’ve had that I tap into when I write songs and feed off of.  They meant a lot to me at the time and still do.

4. What goes into writing a new track or when you’re making a new beat?

Everything starts out on the piano for me.  When I’m in the mood I know it, and I just let things roll.  Usually I’ll come up with the chorus first, and record myself singing with my phone so I don’t forget haha.  Then I’ll head over to the Pro Tools rig and start producing the song.  Lay piano, maybe a few strings to fill in the chorus and then I get into drums.  After that it’s all just layering in small sounds that give the track character and definition.

5. Your style definitely varies, from a soulful sound to an upbeat pop sound, describe your versatility?

I like to experiment.  I don’t like to do the same thing over and over again, even if I know it works.  The challenge of coming up with new material is fun to me, so I try out different directions.

6. What do you think are some of the biggest challenges you face as a new artist in the game?

Exposure is the hardest part, thus why I named my most recent album “Exposure”.  There are so many artists and the market is so saturated you really have to work, be persistent and consistently release great material.  It’s a slow grind for sure.

7. “How Good” has been a fan favorite on the site right now, how did you link up with Meek Mill?

I met Meek on set of a video shoot.  He liked my work and got in touch so I started shooting his videos (Rosé Red, Where They Do That At, Indian Bounce to name a few).  After I had developed a relationship with him I introduced my music.  I refused to run up on him with a CD the first time I met him.  I hate when people do that to me, so I wasn’t about to do that to him.  Good things take time, and real recognize real.

8. If you could work with any artist, band, or producer right now, who would it be?

Kanye West.  Despite what you think about his personality, musically he’s amazing.  The College Dropout changed my life haha I want to work with him.

9. There has been a huge trend of new artists coming out of the Illadelph, what do you think the reason for that is?

We’re all working our butts off out here.  Plus, there was really no competition so the space was going to be filled eventually.  Now here we are.  My main hope is that everyone works together – I’d like to see everyone I work with on a day to day basis now up there at the top too.

10. I notice that you have released a lot of your music for free, how do you think Social Media has affected your rise as an artist?

Social Media is a huge outlet of exposure.  Sure you can sell your music on iTunes, but that deters 99% of listeners from hearing your music.  If you give it away for free, tons of people will download it and it give it a shot.  That’s what I need right now: listeners!!

11. What is next for Dave Patten? What are some of the goals you want to accomplish in this New Year?

I’m ready to make some big moves.  Meek Mill and I are looking to put out a collabo album.  I’m putting the live show together for a spring/summer tour.  I plan to keep shooting as many music videos for as many songs as I can, and keep on writing.  I’ll probably release a new album late Summer 2011.  It’s going to be a great year!

12: Dave, thank you for doing the interview, is there anything else you want to let the readers know?

If you want to make it, get out there and make it happen.  It’s not overnight lol.  Add me on facebook – http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dave-Patten/11362996778 follow me on twitter @dave_patten and download my new album “Exposure” free at www.DavePatten.com
